Hi from Australia
I thought you might like to see some Madisons from the eighties. My partner Misha and I bought the Aust/NZ rights to the Madison from GP and we sold kits and complete cars.
We built them with VW and Subaru engines on the VW platforms, modified to increase stiffness and provide seatbelt mounts. All the cars were painted, and the later complete cars all had doors.
We had a few battles with the state registration requirements, as they each had differing standards. One state insisted on a roll bar, so we never sold any kits or cars there. We also did a couple with 2L Nissan engines instead of the Cortina because that engine was too old to pass our state's registration requirements.

Some cars in our workshop.

And on the street outside.

And the prize goes to... (not me in the picture, but I did build it)

We sold the business and I went to work for them, the name of their company is Bufori and they are still in production as complete cars in Malaysia. This is a prototype with a GM 3.8L V6, which later competed in Australia's first and only Gumball Rally without any problems.

Hi Dave, Do you happen to know a guys called Jeff Kealy?
